Thanksgiving Pumpkin Cake - November 2009

This pumpkin cake was for my son's Thanksgiving Feast. It actually became an oops cake as the sugar clumped and stuck on the outside. I did get to practice painting with the icing colors. I made the cake with two bundt cakes, one choc. and the other ....yes, golden butter. All buttercream icing with marshmallow fondant. The stem was painted with icing colors and ALL fondant. The kids loved it and it was great for our 3 year old Thanksgiving Feast!!

Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!

Giraffe & Elephant Baby Shower Cake - November 2009

I was very excited to make this cake. My former bosses' are going to be grandparents. Both of their daughters are pregnant and due with only a few weeks of each other. They provided me with a plate to go by.
And then....she tells me it will be the focal point of the shower!!! No pressure of course! I ended up doing this 3 tier cake. Two layers of golden butter and one layer of devils food cake. All the stripes, letters and animals are marshmallow fondant. The orange trim is buttercream icing. I had to be a bit creative on this one.

Puppy Dog Cake - November 2009

Here is a puppy dog cake that was requested by a 5 yr old girl. Mom sent me a picture of the dog bowl cake but we had to add something more to it so that it would feed 30 people. She also requested the colors red and black w/ white dots. This is a golden butter cake. The bowl is covered in fondant and the bone is all fondant. The rest of the cake is buttercream icing.

November - Charlie's Cupcakes

Here are some cupcakes that we made for our dog, Charlie's 1st birthday! I put green grass on the each cupcake and then used fondant to make tennis balls, orange and blue rubber balls, and white bones. Charlie and the kids loved them!

Baby Bump Cake - November 2009

This baby shower cake was fun to make. It's golden butter cake with buttercream icing. The tummy was baked in a glass mixing bowl and the 'breasts' were baked in oven safe coffee mugs!!! It's a cute cake for a young mom who's expecting a baby boy!
