First Communion - April 2010 (**FAVORITE**)
This is my FAVORITE cake so far!!! I love how it turned out AND I learned a new recipe. Instead of fondant, I used piping gel. I never knew you could make your own and it was so easy! The cake is golden butter with buttercream icing. The cross is fondant with a pearl glaze.

First Communion Cake - April 2010
This was another very special and fun cake to make. This was a special celebration for 5 kids who were celebrating their first communion. All 5 kids have known each other since they were 3yrs old. I had to make the cake large enough to not only feed everyone but incorporate all 5 kids' names. We also wanted to add the special verse and cross. It was made of Golden butter cake, buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant. The page with the verse was a seperate page that was to be removed and not eaten as I had to write on the fondant with a regular ink pen. The sides of the Bible were painted with a Gold dust (edible).
Polka-Dot Baby Shower Cake - April 2010
Here is a polka-dot baby shower cake that was quite interesting. I was shown a plastic tumbler with polka dots and asked to match it. This is what I came up with. The pink trim was satin ribbon and the topper was made of two ribbons. The cake was made of golden butter cake, buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant.

Her colors were pink and black with polka dots and zebra stripes. Here's her beautiful cake! I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!
